Here’s my entry for the Fall Writing Frenzy 2021 contest. If you don’t know what that is, head over here. I look forward to reading the other entries!

Mother Moon
By: Erika Romero
[ART: The gestation/birth period of various woodland creatures.]
[Word Count: 34; Image: 2]
The moon watches,
and waits,
and wonders
what the night will bring.
The moon lights,
and lifts,
and loves
what the night grows.
The moon empowers,
and encourages,
and embraces
what the night reveals.

The imagery and writing are both so powerful. I love this!
Thanks so much, Jackie! I had so much fun writing this. So much “verbs that start with the letter []” research, lol.
This is beautiful, Erika. I love your use of alliteration. Good luck!
Thank you! Same to you!
Wow! Such a sparse text and yet evocative, beautiful imagery. Well done!
Thank you so much! Definitely one of the shortest PB manuscripts I’ve written!
Wow, I can’t believe how much you were able to show and convey in less than 50 words.
Thank you! I really enjoyed the challenge of having such a short word limit. Didn’t expect it to end up so short, but I love it!
How beautiful this piece is. Sometimes shorter works pack the most punch. This was a knockout. –Melisa Wrex @mowrex (Twitter)
I’m so glad you think so! And I agree, shorter pieces can be incredibly powerful.
What a beautiful picture of the role of the moon. Well done.
Thank you! The prompt image definitely got the creative juices flowing.
So much said with such few words! So good!
Aww, thank you!
Love the alliteration and the repetitive structure. So readable!
Thank you!
