After my honorable mention win in #50PreciousWords last month, I decided to try my hand at #SpringFlingKidlit this month. If you haven’t heard of this contest, find out more. In this post, I’m sharing my entry.
A Feast
By: Erika Romero
Word Count: 51
Across the town,
Deep in a meadow,
My flowers lie asleep.
They await the day,
They hope for the light,
That will raise them all for me.
With slumber gone,
And petals grown,
Each flower calls my name.
I travel far,
I fly so fast,
And buzz buzz buzz,
A feast.
Erika, this is so great! I’m impressed with your ability to tell such a great story with such few words. Well done! And the perfect gif!
Thank you! I might be terrified of bees, but this gif reminded me of their importance. A little boost in positive feelings.
This is lovely! It almost seems like something written long ago and passed down through the generations. And it’s perfectly paired with the GIF. I love the vintage feel of the animation. Great work!
Thank you!
Great entry! Really enjoyed it! 🥰
I’m so glad!
51 words?? Dang! Excellent stuff here! So evocative.
Thanks! I often write quite short for these types of contests.
